Nine Dancing Triangles by Felice Varini is a revolutionary graphic arts installation, a site-specific work of art in the artist’s consecrated style of optical illusions with geometric shapes. The Swiss artist has painted nine bold red geometric shapes, which visually and virtually dance across the walls and ceilings of a cellar. It’s all a matter of perspective with this installation, as a different viewing angle makes it all seem as if a bunch of brightly colored lines were simply dancing across the ceiling and walls. It’s either a work in interconnected shapes, or one in which jumbled lines are separately doing their own dance, each to itself. The alternating 2D/3D effect makes this on-site installation well worth your while; that is, of course, if you find yourself in the vicinity of the Chateau Chasse-Spleen, located in Moulis en Medoc, in France.
