The graphic arts are just as valid on building walls as they are on canvas, says graffiti artist Conor Harrington with his brand new murals in Italy. He may not be Banksy in terms of notoriety just yet, but he certainly has a ‘voice,’ a.k.a. a visual style all his own. Basically, he attempts to appropriate any location, by blending elements of that place’s classical arts with street cred. That’s certainly what he’s done in Italy, as you may see above, below and in the video of his work that we’re featuring. As the website StreetArtNews puts it, you’re looking at proof that the “Irish painter Conor Harrington is in Italy for the Fame Festival 2012 where he just completed this huge new mural on the streets of Grottaglie. He recreated the “When We Were Kings” piece from his “Dead Meat” sold out solo show at Lazarides, last March.”
